Zia said emergency services should always be available to the public in time of need

Punjab Emergency Service Director General Arshad Zia on Thursday chaired a meeting to review arrangements to provide emergency services during Ramazan.

District Emergency Officer Ahmad Raza told the director general that leaves of rescuers had been restricted and they had been assigned duties at large gatherings at Ramazan Bazaars and Friday prayer congregations.

He said rescue vehicles and staff had been deployed at Ramazan Bazaars in Model Town Link Road, Barkat Market, New Kahna, Gulshan-i-Ravi, Shadman, Iqbal Town’s Karim Block, Thokar Niaz Beg, Ghaziabad, Harbanspura and Gol Ground, Shadbagh.

He said District Control Room’s data showed that ratio of emergencies went up an hour before iftar.

Zia said emergency services should always be available to the public in time of need.
