Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in collaboration with cellular companies, last week launched its “Online Complaint Management System” to help customers seek timely resolution of their complaints.

PTA’s "Online Complaint Management System" was inagurated by Sardar Aseff Ahmad Ali, Federal Minister for Information Technology at the PTA headquarters last week.

The online complaint management system will enable telecom consumers to lodge their complaints regarding telecom services online and to receive a prompt response on them. This system is integrated with operators and the telecom authority.

Chairman PTA Dr Mohammad Yaseen, Member Finance, Syed Nasrul Karim Ghaznavi, and Member Technical, Dr Khawar Siddique Khokhar were also present at the ceremony.

Speaking during the opening ceremongy, the Chairman for PTA briefed the minister on Pakistan's telecom sector development.

The Chairman said that PTA has encouraged development of local contents and created awareness on it.  It has introduced an Information Rabta Portal to facilitate internet users to get information on Pakistan. He said PTA organised Consumer Forums in different cities to seek feedback from consumers on its telecom services.  PTA also introduced new system to block unwanted calls/SMSes.

Asim+Ali | 13 years ago | Reply Is this the issue of the country? Finding a way to make complaints about cellular operators? The cellular sector of Pakistan is the most advanced sector of the world which has enabled and enriched the lives of 100 million Pakistanis at affordable rates. The sector which contributes over Rs. 100 billion in taxes, the sector which practically provides employment to the entire media and we are looking at ways of finding complaints? The sector where over $ 8 billion of investment went in from the private sector. What needs to happen is the revamp of Railways, PIA, Pakistan Steel and other state owned corporations. The issues facing the economy are the energy crises, food prices and governance and we feel proud at highlighting that there is a complaint management system for telecoms! Bravo!
