The Sindh government had offered the establishment two gas-power turbines of 50 megawatt each in 2012 and it was discussed in three meetings of Hesco board of directors. In a meeting in 2012, the board had granted approval of issuance of letter of intent while in meeting on March 15, 2013, the board had issued directives for completion of all documents related to the set-up. In a meeting in 2013, the board directed the submission of tariff petition with a request which was to be submitted within three months, the spokesperson said. He added that the government had made no headway into this issue and therefore, the Hesco board had cancelled the letter of intent, which proved that the allegations levelled by the finance minister are incorrect.
