Serving 25 year sentence: Kashmiri groups launch campaign for Baba Jan’s release  

The party has given a protest call on June 24 in this regard

MUZAFFARABAD: Kashmiri progressive and nationalist organisations have launched a campaign for the release of Baba Jan, a leader of the Awami Workers Party Gilgit-Baltistan.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s National Party (JKPNP) announced the campaign. A local court has issued an order of 25 years imprisonment for Baba Jan and his colleagues.

JKPNP also has announced today that the party will launch another campaign against the AJK government’s proposed ‘Services Act’ which will deprive government employees to have right of  protest and form a union being government employees.

This campaign will be launched nationally and internationally. The party has given a protest call on June 24 in this regard.
