Gang busted: Sixteen stolen bikes, rickshaw recovered

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a two-member gang and recovered 16 stolen motorcycles and a rickshaw from their possession.

A Special Investigation Unit team raided a hideout and recovered the stolen bikes, and a rickshaw stolen from Taxila area. The recovered motorcycles included one Honda-125, three CD-70s, five Hero Hondas, three Metros, two Union Stars, one Yamaha and one Style Motorcycle.

The suspects were identified as Bilal Shah, a resident of Ziarat Taki Shah, Sangjani, and Imran Ellahi, a resident of Dakly Bosal, Taxila.

The accused revealed that they had stolen the motorcycles from the Tarnol, Golra Sharif and Shams Colony police jurisdictions, while the rickshaw was taken from Taxila. Records at Tarnol Police Station showed that Nauman Abassi had lodged an FIR with the police about his stolen motorcycle (LEO-2336), Tauseef Jadoon about his stolen bike (RIZ-4920) and Mahirur Rehman about his stolen bike (RIK-144).

The three complainants identified their motorcycles. Later, their bikes were handed over to them, while other complainants are being contacted to return their stolen property.

Further investigation is under way, the police said.
