Ongoing operation: Rangers arrest five suspects   

Two pistols were also seized from them

KARACHI: Nearly half-a-dozen suspects, including political workers and suspected militants of banned outfits, were apprehended during ongoing Rangers and police operations in the metropolis on Tuesday.

Rangers arrested at least five suspects during targeted raids and operations in different parts of cities including Manghopir, Korangi, Baldia and North Nazimabad.

Two of the suspects were affiliated with a political party while the remaining three were members of a banned militant outfit. Weapons were also seized from their possession. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning.

Separately, Aziz Bhatti police arrested two suspects from Gulshan-e-Iqbal during snap-checking. The suspects have been identified as Abdul Hamid and Ghani Akbar.

Two pistols were also seized from them. According to the police, the two suspects were involved in number of cases of street crimes.
