Tragic: Five drown in separate incidents

Locals fished out the bodies after three hours

GUJAR KHAN:  

Five people including two brothers drowned in separate incidents in Gujar Khan on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Qudoos, 24, his elder brother, Abdul Malik, 27, and Jawad, 30, and Ali Hamza, 22.

Police said that Qudoos and Malik were washing their cow at the bank of a seasonal drain in Mohra Dhamial Gujar Khan when Qudoos slipped and fell in the water. Malik tried to rescue him, but both drowned.

Locals fished out the bodies after three hours.  Both the victims were stated to be students.

Meanwhile, Jawad drowned while swimming in a dam in the Mohra Fatima Jatli area.

In third incident, Hamza drowned in Jhelum River while bathing. Hamza was visiting Dhoke Heran Wali Gali to attend festival at Baba Ghulam Badash in Nothia Sharif.

The body was retrieved by divers.
