Fashion round-up: Starlets sizzle in V-necked mini dresses

Seems like Hollywood’s bombshells are skipping traditional dresses in favour of sultry minis with simple V-necks. Who would have thought they’d channel the simple trend and transfigure it into a fashion statement? Singer-actor Selena Gomez and supermodel Gigi Hadid were picturesque visions to watch out for this week — literally.

The 23-year-old Hands to Myself hit maker sensationalised onlookers in a red sequin wrap dress by Balmain that flaunted her gym-honed legs to perfection as she headed for a photo shoot in NYC. The gleaming wrap dress featured a dipping V-neck and long sleeves that only further amplified her classy ensemble. A pair of delicate silver strappy stilettos and some very large triangular bejewelled earrings completed the head-turning look. Her undulating brunette locks were styled to precision, as they were parted in the middle and left to cascade perfectly past her shoulders. The Spring Breakers star was certainly paparazzi ready with some deep peach-hued lip stain, eye-liner and illuminating eye-shadow.



Gigi Hadid



She called it quits with Zayn Malik earlier this week but Gigi wasn’t letting her reported blues over the breakup slow her down, as she strutted down the red carpet at the Maybelline New York Beauty Bash held in Los Angeles. The 21-year-old Victoria Secret model exhibited her enviable pins in a spaghetti strapped mini-dress. The navy blue number featured two zippered slits and an enticing V-neck. An interesting textured pattern of raised loops decorated the front of the dress, adding a bit of sophistication to the otherwise quite humble dress. Known to have a soft corner for metallic rudiments, Gigi donned a pair of chrome pointed-toe heels by Versace and a woven metal choker to polish up the outfit. A slick of burgundy lipstick added a hint of colour that flawlessly coordinated with her manicure.
