PESHAWAR: An amount of Rs18 billion has been proposed for the Peshawar bus rapid transport project and two new mega projects in the K-P budget 2016-17, disclosed Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Transport Malik Shah Muhammad Khan Wazir.

Wazir said that the proposed bus project was a part of the Mass Transit System (MTS) in Peshawar starting from Chamkani Motorway Interchange to Hayatabad.

Financial assistance would be provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), that has agreed to provide loan for these projects at 1% mark-up payable by 2030. In the first phase, he said, 100 air conditioned buses would be brought for which pre-qualification tenders from interested international companies were already received.

“The buses would arrive in Peshawar within six months for which all modalities including their fare, routes and passenger stops were being finalised.”

Waqas | 7 years ago | Reply @pervaiz: For your kind information, work on 350 mini micro hydel projects is true. 55 projects have already been completed.and if you visit the northern belt you will see the progress on billion tree tsunami. furthermore, if u visit nathia gali u'll see that the government infested cottages are now filled with general public and the roads and infrastructure has seen a big change.. jobs have been created, 44 positions only in our Department. leave alone the rest. our country is a developing one, so have some patience. learn to appreciate not just criticize. KP has seen alot of development and is going towards prosperity.. the public has responsibility aswell, which they r not standing upto.. we r not babies to be spoon fed everything
