PM Nawaz wants to make highways the jugular vein of the economy whereas Imran wants to create anarchy, says Rashid.

MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan is creating chaos through "politics of protests on roads" which is spreading political instability and destabilising the country’s economy.

This was stated by Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid during a joint press conference along with Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in Muzaffarabad on Sunday.

"[Prime Minister] Nawaz Sharif wants to make highways the jugular vein of the national economy whereas Imran wants to create anarchy and violence on the roads," he said.

Rashid added that some elements were hatching conspiracies to hinder the process of economic development.

"Economic stability is not possible without political stability," the minister reminded.

He regretted that just as the country is starting to make progress, anti-development forces have become active and are trying to create political instability.

The minister pointed out that political stability was imperative for eliminating terrorism, overcoming energy shortages and creating employment opportunities.

Rashid said that political instability to 120-day sit-in cost the nation dear as power and employment projects were delayed.

Lamenting that the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government in valley had failed to meet the expectations of the people, Rashid said the PML-N had rejected "palace intrigues" and horse-trading for coming into power in AJK.

sabi | 7 years ago | Reply Minister is absolutely right in his saying. Imran khan and his handlers don't want to see Nawaz Sharif succeeding in building Pakistan. They know that once these mega projects are completed no one will even look at them hence their chance of looting this poor nation will reduce to zero. Present team of generals have foiled every conspiracy hatched by this dharna group which has helped political stability beside exposing their ugly faces. Shame on them.
