He was speaking at the end of JI's 'train march' against corruption on Friday night. The train march began a few days ago in Peshawar and concluded in Karachi.
He also said that people from Peshawar to Karachi welcomed the anti-corruption march, and warned that the days of the corruption mafia in Pakistan are numbered.
Pakistan has been in the clutches of corruption mafia since its independence, he said, adding that the time for the accountability of our corrupt rulers has started. “Capitalism and corruption has ruined the country. The masses are now fed up with the corrupt politicians and a new culture of rule of just and equity is about to start,” he added.
Accountability: JI to start anti-corruption campaign from May 1
Hunger and poverty in Pakistan are the direct outcomes of corruption, said JI amir. Social injustice in the society is on the rise and the poor are getting poorer and the rich richer, he claimed.
The nation wants strict accountability of corrupt leaders. He warned the regime that people would take to the streets in Islamabad if they created hurdles in the accountability process.
On the occasion, JI secretary-general Liaquat Balouch said that the corruption mafia in Pakistan is very powerful and the masses should join hands to defeat it. He said that the JI's drive against corruption provided a ray of hope to the people.
Now people are aware of the root cause of their miseries, said JI leader Asadullah Bhutto. JI's struggle will continue till all the corrupt people are put behind bars, he added.
JI Sindh Amir Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui said that corruption should be ended at all costs as the entire nation is tired of its blatantly corrupt leaders.
