Delayed promotions: Teachers union threatens street protests

The teachers have been waiting for promotions for the last 15 years

Federal college teachers warned the government on Saturday of street protests if there was any further delay in the issuance of their promotion notifications, said a press release.

Despite the decision to promote 17 teachers, made at a departmental meeting two months ago, the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has failed to issue the notification. The teachers have been waiting for promotions for the last 15 years.

Professor Manzar Zafar Kazmi, president of Federal Government College Teachers Association (FGCTA), expressed his disappointment with CADD. He said that CADD’s indifference towards college teachers was a major source of unrest and anxiety among them.
