Suspension from class: Verdict reserved on student’s plea
Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza heard his contention and reserved judgment on the petition
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court on Thursday reserved verdict on a petition moved by a Punjab University student against his one-semester suspension for sending indecent mobile messages to a class fellow. Zarq Tanvir, a student of the Physical Education Department, had told the court in his petition that the disciplinary committee had suspended him on a complaint moved by a student. He said he had been accused of sending indecent text messages to the complainant. The petitioner said the complainant and her family had pardoned him but the university’s administration was not allowing him to resume classes. He asked the court to order the university to end his suspension. Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza heard his contention and reserved judgment on the petition.
