FGEICG: Pindi education body split into two directorates

RAWALPINDI: Defense authorities here on Wednesday divided the Federal Government Educational Institutions Cantonments and Garrisons (FGEICG) into two directorates Rawalpindi and Chaklala.

The decision has been made to run administrative affairs of the directorate smoothly and reduce the work load on the educational officers.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has approved the decision of creating two directorates for FGEICG in the Rawalpindi Division.

The authorities have created Chaklala Directorate for FGEICG.

At least 53 schools and colleges will function under the Chaklala directorate.

The new directorate would be supervised by its deputy director, Col Ghulam Qambar.

As many as 55 schools and colleges will function under FGEICG Rawalpindi Directorate.

The directorate will be supervised by Lt-Colonel Saad Ullah who will serve as its deputy director.

A brigadier will supervise the affairs of both as director.

According to official sources, under the division, schools and colleges falling in areas in west of Benazir Bhutto Road in Rawalpindi up to Attock District will function under the FGEICG Rawalpindi Directorate.

Schools and colleges in areas east of Benazir Bhutto Road in Rawalpindi up to Jhelum will function under the FGEICG Chaklala Directorate.

The educational institutions in Murree and Azad Kashmir will come under administration of FGEICG Chaklal Directorate.
