MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani’s son, Ali Haider Gillani, recovered recently from his captors three years after his kidnapping, arrived in Multan on Tuesday. He travelled by a special plane from Lahore to Multan. He was given a warm welcome by Pakistan Peoples Party supporters. Roads were decorated with colourful buntings, portraits and hoardings.

A large number of PPP activists from Multan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal and adjacent areas had gathered outside Multan Airport to welcome Ali Haider. He had been kidnapped from Multan on May 9, 2013.

He was accompanied by his father and brothers, Musa Gillani and Qasim Gillani. Police personnel escorted the convoy that took them to their ancestral home. Later, a reception was given at the residence. Sweets were distributed among the people. His family members expressed relief and joy at meeting him after three years.
