Qazi, who was apprehended by the Rangers in a targeted raid in February, was allegedly involved in a 19-year-old triple murder case of the then Karachi Electric Supply Corporation's managing director Shahid Hamid, his driver and guard. He is also implicated in two other cases pertaining to processing illicit weapons and providing shelter to alleged terrorists.
The police produced him on the expiry of his first 14-day remand. The investigating officer said that during the course of the physical remand, the suspect was identified by two eye-witnesses — the widow and son of the slain MD — as one of the four assailants.
The judge directed the police to bring the charge sheet to the next hearing so the case could be sent for trial.
