Eight teams of wildlife officers, each comprising one veterinary doctor, were dispatched to Thar, informed forest secretary Rizwan Memon during a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah at CM House on Monday.
On the recommendation of the teams, the livestock department's poultry wing has dispatched 20,000 antibiotics and, 20,000 vitamins and glucose vaccines to Thar. "Our department has arranged feed for the peafowls on its own," he said.
The wildlife secretary said that of the eight peafowls kept in quarantine at Mithi, four have been released after giving them necessary treatment.
The CM said that he has received some reports that some camels also have died due to a mysterious disease in Thar.
