Uzair Baloch being investigated in three more cases
Alleged criminal is currently on judicial remand in illicit weapons case
KARACHI:
The anti-terrorism courts' administrative judge allowed police on Saturday to investigate incarcerated Lyari-based gangster Uzair Jan Baloch in three more cases pertaining to murder and attacking law enforcers.
Baloch, chief of the outlawed Peoples Amn Committee of Lyari, is currently in jail on judicial remand in an illicit weapons case. The three more cases he has been allowed to be investigated in are lodged at Chakiwara and Napier police stations and date back to 2012 and earlier. In these cases, he has been accused of murdering two people and attacking police personnel to evade arrest.

The judge directed police to furnish a progress report after completing the suspect's interrogation.
More than 40 cases of murder, kidnapping, extortion and other serious crimes are lodged against Baloch at different police stations across the city. He has been declared a proclaimed offender in many of these cases by the courts.

He was arrested in January this year during a targeted raid conducted on a tip off, the Rangers asserted, however, his family claims he was taken into custody much earlier in Dubai and was later extradited to the country.
