Shahbaz, Ali Haider meet in Lahore after their release from captivity

It was no ordinary reunion when Shahbaz Taseer and Ali Haider Gilani met in Lahore on Saturday after their release from captivity.

Shahbaz and Ali Haider were abducted in two separate incidents in 2011 and 2013. While, Shahbaz, the scion of slain Punjab governor Salman Taseer was released last month, former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son was released last week after three years in captivity.

As Shahbaz perfectly summed up, “miracles do happen,” their recoveries were nothing short of that. The slain Punjab governor’s son took to Twitter to post pictures of himself as their families met to cheer each other on the recoveries.

Ali Haider - seized by militants on the outskirts of Multan on May 9, 2013 - was freed on Tuesday by Afghan and US forces during a raid on an al Qaeda cell in Afghanistan’s Paktika province.

Earlier, Shahbaz also took to Twitter to congratulate Ali Haider on the day of his release as other joined felicitations.

SaneVoice | 8 years ago | Reply I really am happy for these two guys, but this a wrong example to say "Miracles do happen" YES they do happen, it's ironic when they usually happen people don't even acknowledge. BTW these two guys finding freedom in a short span of time back to back doesn't seem like a coincidence.

Independent | 8 years ago | Reply Miracles do happen for babies born with silver spoon in their mouth. You can go unhurt under the axe of barbarians but for normal people born into ordinary family even mice & mosquitos can be fatal in this part of world.
