
Two members of a former pro-government peace committee were shot dead by unidentified armed men on Saturday in Nemat Khel village of Tank. A police official confirmed Hakeem Jan and Rehmatullah were standing outside a house in Nemat Khel village when they were gunned down by unidentified armed motorcyclists who fled from the spot. The police registered a case and started an investigation to find the culprits. A search operation was conducted in nearby areas. Peace committee members have been targeted by militants on many occasions in the past. Earlier, a local peace committee volunteer was killed in Bajaur in the month of February, while five members were slain in September 2015.
