FAISALABAD: An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate a case of corporal punishment in a public school for girls. Bashir Ahmed, the complainant, told The Express Tribune that his daughter Sania was a student of grade four at Government Girls Primary School in Jaranwala.  “She was given some homework on Wednesday which she could not complete. When she went to school on Thursday, her teacher beat her for not finishing the homework.” “My daughter had to be taken to a hospital for the bruises and cuts she had suffered,” he said. Ahmed said he had submitted her medical report to Jaranwala City police.  “I also moved a complaint for registration of an FIR against the teacher,” he said. Talking to The Express Tribune, Deputy Education Officer Samia Chaudhary said an inquiry committee had been formed to investigate the incident. She said action would be taken against the teacher if she was found guilty.
