PESHAWAR: Russia’s investment in Pakistan remains abysmally low even though both countries share a strategic and historical relationship.

This was said by traders of the province during the visit of Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Yurievich Dedov to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI). They asked the ambassador to invest in the country and provide opportunities to Pakistani traders to invest in Russia.

The Russian ambassador was informed that K-P, like other parts of the country, is rich in natural resources such as oil, gas and other minerals and its resources need to be tapped.  Meanwhile, the ambassador of Russia said bilateral trade could bring both the countries closer.

He added the recommendations of the traders will be conveyed to his country.  “Russia has deep interest in enhancing economic ties with Pakistan,” he added.
