QUETTA: An accountability court in Quetta on Tuesday handed over Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) former chairman Ashraf Magsi to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for four-day physical remand.

The BPSC official was presented before the Accountability Court 1, where NAB counsel appealed for a physical remand of the accused. Arguing against the request, the accused told the court that he was suffering from cardiac problem, blood pressure, kidney issues and diabetes.

However, NAB counsel told the court that a doctors’ team would be present round the clock to give medical aid to the accused, if needed. Later, Justice Abdul Majeed Nasir handed over the accused to NAB authorities for four-day remand. Meanwhile, NAB has been carrying out raids to arrest the accused administrator of Khaliqabad in the wake of the arrest of Balochistan’s finance secretary, Mushtaq Raisani.
