BATTAGRAM:

Two people were gunned down in the name of honour in a remote village in Allai located in Battagram tehsil on Monday.

Pazang police quoted Nabiullah, a resident of Sakar Tandol village, as saying that his family had an old rivalry with the family of Abdul Hakeem – residents of the same village. On Sunday evening, Nabiullah’s son Saifullah was passing through the street when Abdul Hakeem’s younger brother, Muhammad Hakeem, opened fire on his paternal nephew, Saifullah, 25, killing him on the spot.

Later on, the accused also shot his twenty-three-year-old niece Samina Bibi, daughter of Abdul Hakeem, and called both murders ‘honour killings’. Muhammad Hakeem managed to flee the scene after committing the crime.

However, police said the bodies of Saifullah and Samina were found from the same spot.
