Mumtazabad police have registered a case against eight people caught betting on a bull-carts race. Sub Inspector Ghulam Sarwar received a tip-off about the race. He visited the Bhakal Bhirr village and the team accompanying him caught the men whipping and forcing bulls to race each other in sweltering heat. They arrested three men – Nazar, Lashkar Ali and Aashique – and took Rs44,350 stake money from them. Police said several others, includung Ihsan, Muhammad Wakeel, Talib, Makhan, and Ejaz had managed to flee when they saw the police arrive.
