KARACHI: Team Imam Baksh Sajdi clinched the K-Electric (KE) U16 Lyari League 2016 title as they defeated Sir Sidiq Singhar 2-1 at the People’s Stadium.

The KE league featured a total of 288 players from Lyari in different teams that were named after the legends from the locality.

The top six players from the competition will also get the opportunity to play in KE’s seniors team, according to the KE spokesperson.

Meanwhile, at the final, Imam Baksh Sajdi’s Muhammad Zubair scored the opening goal in the fourth minute. However, Sir Sidiq Singhar’s Ehsan equalised in the eighth minute.

The two teams had a close match, till Sameer sealed the win for Imam Baksh Sajdi in the 32nd minute of the match.

He was also named the player of the match, while team Choudhary Muhammad Ghulam’s Mateen was declared the player of the tournament for scoring five goals in the 10-day event.
