HYDERABAD: The police claim to have solved a murder case in which four members of a family were killed two weeks ago in Jamshoro and Hyderabad.

Four suspects, identified as Sadruddin Dahar, Mashooq Buledi, Hakim Solangi and Zafar Abbass Zaidi, have been arrested, said Hyderabad DIG Khadim Hussain Rind and Jamshoro SSP Capt (retd) Tariq Wilayat during a press conference on Thursday.

The suspects allegedly kidnapped the deceased, Mazhar Abbass Mirza, and then killed his mother, Azmat Mirza, sister Farzana Mirza and brother Jafar Mirza, at their residence in Kotri.

"Zaidi used to run a marriage bureau," said the SSP. "On April 22, he called Mirza to his place to discuss a marriage proposal. But there he was kidnapped." After killing Mirza's family, the kidnappers forced him to sign a cheque worth Rs100,000, which was cashed from a bank's branch in Kotri, he added.

He was killed the next day after his refusal to sign another cheque of a similar amount. The body was found on May 2 packed in a gunny bag.
