A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate for by-election on PK-8, Peshawar-VIII Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seat has asked for the deployment of army at sensitive polling stations during the polling process.
Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, PTI candidate Shahzad Khan said his opponents were trying to defeat him by planning to rig the by-polls.
PTI MNA Sajid Nawaz Khan thanked the jirga of PTI leaders for convincing Yousaf Khalil to rejoin the party as he had earlier parted ways and was vying for the seat as an independent candidate.
At the news conference, Khalil announced he would rejoin PTI and also withdrew from the candidature for the by-polls in favour of Shahzad Khan. He also urged people to vote for PTI.
