Technology: Satellite demarcation of forest land planned, says DG
The DG said a scheme was being prepared for provision of motorbikes for wildlife inspectors for patrolling

Wildlife and Parks Director General Khalid Ayaz Khan on Wednesday said a decision had been taken for demarcation of the area under the administrative control of the Wildlife Department through satellite images and to demarcate game reserves, wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in accordance with modern needs.
Khan said a scheme was being prepared for provision of motorbikes for wildlife inspectors and wildlife watchers for patrolling. He said a meeting of the promotion committee should be convened within a month and a report on cases of employees with outstanding performance should be sent to the head office.

He was presiding over a meeting of deputy directors and assistant directors of the Wildlife Department at his office.
Honorary Game Warden Shahrukh Butt and former honorary game warden Badar Munir were also present.
Khan said officials of the Forest Department should ensure consultation with officers of the Wildlife Department while devising plantation plans.
He said proposals should for enhancing income of the Wildlife Department through sale of surplus stock of animals should be tabled. He said vacant posts at tehsil levels would be filled soon.
