Targeted: Former PAF official shot dead

According to locals, the retired PAF officer will be buried in his ancestral graveyard on Wednesday

CHARSADDA: A retired wing commander of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was gunned down on Ghani Khan Road in Charsadda on Monday evening. According to a police official, Mian Ayub Khan, a resident of Chora Tangi, was coming back from Sardheri, Charsadda to his house in Peshawar when two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on his car. The official told The Express Tribune Ayub’s relative Shujaul Malik and his driver were also injured in the firing. However, Ayub succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Malik registered an FIR and police have recorded the statement of the driver. Police said the deceased did not have any enemies and there is a strong likelihood that it was a targeted attack. According to locals, the retired PAF officer will be buried in his ancestral graveyard on Wednesday. Further investigation is under way.
