Bachelor’s: Over 20 AJK students to get scholarships

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) has approved 22 awards for four-year bachelor’s programme under the Pakistan-USaid scholarship scheme.


A UAJK spokesperson said that 22 students belonging to different departments of the university were finally selected from 49 shortlisted candidates.


The scholarships will cover tuition fee, hostel dues, transportation and other expenditures during the entire length of the programme at the UAJK.


The 11-member selection committee was headed by the UAJK Vice-Chancellor, Dr Khawaja Farooq Ahmad.


Besides, senior UAJK faculty members, a representative of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and three members of the civil society, were also part of committee to ensure impartiality and merit in the award of scholarships.


Dr Farooq appreciated the initiative taken by the USaid.
