Crackdown: Four clinics sealed

TAXILA: The health department on Sunday launched a crackdown on drug manufacturing companies, sealing four quack clinics in different parts of the cities. A team of the health department, led by Malik Arshad Awan, raided different rural and urban areas and sealed four clinics either run by quacks or the ones violating the rules and regulations set in the Punjab Healthcare Commission Act 2010. The clinics sealed included Wasif Clinic, village Kolian; Hassan Surgery and Dental Centre, HMC road; Madina Clinic, Thatta Khalil Road and Awan Medical and Dental Centre, Ahatta. He said that a practitioner was found selling medicines on fake warranty of a famous pharmaceutical company besides another was selling medicines without a physicians’ prescription. He said that cases of these quacks were referred to drugs court for further legal action.
