Ambassador of Czech Republic to Pakistan, Jan Fury has emphasised on exploring ways and means to strengthen bilateral collaboration and bring the business communities of the two countries closer.
During his visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the Ambassador said the trade volume between the two countries, though low, has been gradually improving since 2013, which was a good sign.
He said there existed a lot of potential to raise the current bilateral trade volume through collective efforts and advised Pakistani businessmen to focus on diversifying exports.
“The business community of Karachi could also export food and agricultural products to the Czech Republic and in return, it could benefit from the high-quality electronics, heavy machineries and information technology services and technologies offered by the country,” he said.
“Pakistani traders and industrialists would be visiting the Czech Republic later this year to look for possibilities to enhance trade,” he added. He also extended full support and cooperation to the business community in benefitting more from the generalised scheme of preferences (GSP) Plus granted by the European Union.
