In wake of deaths: Bodybuilding federation halts all competitions

Death of four bodybuilders this month has left the community in shock and worried about the future of the sport

Pakistan Body Building Federation (PBBF) President Sheikh Farooq Iqbal has announced that there will be no further events taking place locally until all the gyms register themselves with the federation.


According to Iqbal, the death of four bodybuilders this month has left the bodybuilding community in shock and worried about the future of their sport.

He added that the alleged use of steroids may be one of the causes of the recent deaths; therefore, to ensure safety of the bodybuilders, the federation wants to investigate the matter and start the registration process of gyms across the country.
