FAISALABAD:

The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has declared four residential colonies illegal and has sealed their premises. The colonies include Owais Garden and VIP Block, who have offices on Jaranwala Road; New Garden Town whose office is on Satiana Road; and Roshan Block whose office is on Susan Road, an FDA spokesperson said on Monday. He said construction of the residential colonies had been stopped and the boundary walls and main gates of Roshan Block and VIP Block had been demolished. The spokesperson said that the residential colonies had been developed without seeking prior approval from the FDA which was mandatory under the Local Government Ordinance 2001 and the Development of Citizen Act 1976. The FDA has asked potential buyers to confirm about the status of the schemes with the FDA before investing in property.
