Money transfer: PPOD reiterates its wide network
The post office offers an upper limit of Rs100,000 and Rs50,000 per day
ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Post Office Department (PPOD) is providing affordable money transfer services covering far flung areas of the country through its net of 13,000 post offices, said an official. Through its Urgent Money Order (UMO) and Fax Money Order (UMO), the post office offers an upper limit of Rs100,000 and Rs50,000 per day, respectively, on nominal charges compared to the rates of private service providers, added the official. “Through UMO, we provide air lift service to the desired destination with a maximum delivery time of one day,” said the PPOD official, adding that UMO is offering inter-city and intra-city facilities. He said the main reason behind the post office’s poor numbers was a general lack of awareness among the masses over the services.
