HYDERABAD: The Sindh High Court has issued a stay order against the removal of Dr Imdad Ali Ismaili from the post of pro-vice-chancellor of Sindh University (SU) and put the Sindh governor, chief minister's secretary for universities and SU on notice for April 21. In his petition, Dr Ismaili claimed that since his appointment for a four-year tenure on April 11, he has not been allowed to assume the charge and expressed fear of being removed from the post, which he claimed has been vacant for 16 months. A group of SU teachers and the Federation of All Pakistan University Academic Staff Association opposed Dr Ismaili's appointment as part of their struggle against the Sindh Universities Law (Amendment) Act, 2013.
