Easy pickings: Caretaker accused of stealing mosque funds

LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Misri Shah SHO on a plea filed by the management committee of a mosque. Petitioner Waheed said he was part of the management committee of Mehrunnisa Masjid. He said the mosque’s management had made Tahir Saleem an honorary chairman of the mosque in February, 2013. “Saleem embezzled the money amounting to at least Rs2 million,” he said. “I complained about it to the police, but action was not taken.”
