Sahir Lodhi's upcoming movie Raasta has released its official teaser, which promises a new type of movie for contemporary Pakistani cinema.

The action-packed video gives us a glimpse of the violence, blood-shed and romance in the film. Sahir is not only starring in the film - he has written the screenplay and dialogues, and has co-produced as well as co-directed Raasta.

Besides Sahir, the action thriller stars Shamoon Abbasi, Naveed Raza, Aijaz Aslam, Sana Fakhr, Abeer Rizvi and Saima Azhar.

The teaser begins with Sahir's voice saying, "Duniya mein do tarah ke log hote hain - aik meri tarah, aik tumhari tarah, aur mujhe dono se nafrat hai."

He continues with the reminder (or warning): "Mohabbat aur jung mein sab jayaz hai."

We see booze, women, guns and rain pouring down on two lovers - elements that haven't been the focus of most Lollywood films as of late.

In an earlier interview with The Express Tribune, Sahir had stated that films were always his first love and Television became his mainstay as a mere coincidence.

Will the real Shah Rukh Khan please stand up?
