KARACHI:

Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Altaf Hussain has said that martial law should be imposed in Punjab to rid it of crimes.

He said that if he felt it necessary, he will come to Pakistan in army uniform. He said that now people will not accept any barriers in the way of a revolution. He said that the target killers and those who are committing atrocities will not be spared and the criminals who are inflicting damages to the country will be hanged.

Addressing the gathering of reinstated KESC employees here at Nine-Zero, the party’s headquarters, he said that the KESC would also have collapsed had the workers not been reinstated. He demanded that the power utility also reinstate 216 employees.

He said that hereditary politics has been in sway in Pakistan for the past 63 years. He said that a revolution has become the destiny of the people of Pakistan and he hoped that the armed forces and the judiciary will show courage and support the masses in their struggle against feudal lords and the rich.

Also Punjab is a province and what is the criteria you are comparing crime of karachi with the Punjab. MQM should be banned. I am a karachities and an eye witness.
Amjad | 14 years ago | Reply Who is Altaf Bhai trying to fool. There is no way you can compare the crime in Karachi or KPK with the the Punjab which is the safest place in Pakistan. As for the isolated criminal activites of a few, this has nothing to do with the local government. There will always be some crime everywhere in the world. Punjab is not only the safest province in Pakistan but it is also the best run province. This is really what bothers Altaf Hussain. If he doesn't believe it, maybe he should fly to Pakistan and see for himself.
