Organ Donation: SIUT to launch week-long campaign
Health minister Jam Mehtab Dahar will preside over the concluding session
KARACHI:
Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) is launching a week-long campaign from April 16, aiming to increase public awareness among the public on the concept of deceased organ donation and its impact on saving human lives. Organ donation has been described as a great act of generosity across the world, said an official of the SIUT on Thursday. The SIUT, with support of Transplant Society of Pakistan and Human Organ Transplantation Authority, has organised seminars to encompass the various aspects of the deceased donor programme. Representatives from Sindh health department, country’s leading transplant surgeons, medical practitioners, opinion makers, religious scholars, jurists, academicians and social scientists will take part in it. Health minister Jam Mehtab Dahar will preside over the concluding session and Mufti Muneebur Rehman will deliver the keynote address.
