Mutual collaboration: Delegation from Belarus visits NUML

Hopes to build educational bridges.

A delegation of academics from Belarus visited the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Tuesday to explore opportunities for mutual collaboration and cooperation in the field of education.

The nine-member delegation, comprising vice-chancellors of different universities of Belarus, was led by Vadim Bogush, first deputy of education ministry of Belarus.

NUML Rector Major General (retd) Ziauddin Najam briefed the delegation that NUML was the only varsity in the country to offer 26 languages and also offered seven other programmes such as social sciences, engineering and computer science, and management sciences. He said that the university had seven regional offices across the country.

The rector further informed that the university had more than 14,000 students and was looking forward to collaborate with its Belarussian counterparts on research, and was eager to begin an exchange programme with them.

Bogush said that Belarus should take advantage of NUML’s language programmes. He also welcomed the idea of a student exchange programme with NUML.
