A Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education (E&SE) department official has said there was no shortage of textbooks. He said the department has already provided 42.4 million free textbooks of 45.8 million promised to government schools.
He pointed out in order to make effective, efficient and economic use of public funds, the provincial government followed a competitive process for printing and delivery of textbooks under the K-P Public Procurement Regulatory Authority rules.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the spokesperson of the department said temporary delays in the provision of a small quantity of textbooks showed the provincial government’s commitment to bring transparency in the procurement process and implementing notified rules.
He pointed out in order to make effective, efficient and economic use of public funds, the provincial government followed a competitive process for printing and delivery of textbooks under the K-P Public Procurement Regulatory Authority rules.
