Unattended accessory: Sharmila’s handbag lands in [hot] water

PPP lawmaker Sharmila Farooqi’s managed to turned heads with her Burberry handbag soon after the session started.

As the CM’s culture adviser was not present on the treasury benches, the 15 or so MPAs present initially were all looking curiously at the ‘costly bag’ left unattended.  “What is that? Is it a bag or something else,” said the speaker pointing towards the handbag left in the middle of the opposition and treasury benches. No one went close to the bag and after all the MPAs present disowned it, the speaker asked the assembly secretary to put it inside water for a while [presumably to defuse any explosives present inside]. In the meantime, Farooqi, came back inside and claimed ownership of the designer handbag, said to cost nearly Rs100,000.
