The two stars are reportedly playing lovers in the highly anticipated movie.

Ever since we got to know that Fawad Khan's screen time in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been extended, we were eagerly waiting for more more details.

KJo has confirmed that the upcoming film starring Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in key roles is not a conventional love story or a love triangle.

And now a source close to the film unit has revealed that Fawad and Anushka will be playing Pakistani lovebirds in the highly anticipated film.

Fawad's cameo role in 'ADHM' extended post 'Kapoor & Sons' success

“Anushka and Fawad are from Karachi, who meet each other in a foreign country. Fawad is a DJ while Anushka comes from a nawabi family," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.

The moment Fawad had Alia Bhatt blushing

"The two fall in love abroad but once they come back to Karachi and Fawad approaches Anushka’s family to ask for her hand, he is ridiculed for belonging to a lower class… a bhand (jester or entertainer) by profession, and sent away… A dejected Anushka leaves her home too," the source added.

Women call me 'beta' but call Fawad by his name: Sidharth Malhotra

But you will have to wait a little more to find out whether they have a happy or a sad ending. “You will have to watch the film to see whether they are united,”the source said.

Recently, Ranbir, Fawad and Anushka were spotted shooting together in Rajasthan.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slated to release this Diwali.

Proud Guy | 7 years ago | Reply bollywood will never going to give Fawad a strong lead role in their films.Hes just begging Indian film directors to cast him for the sake of little fame and money. I dont even give a damn about bollywood.
CD | 7 years ago | Reply I would want to pay and watch this film in cinema just for FK. So KJ do justice to his role. It should be a self-sustaining and a complete role and not just a silly sort khana puri or an insignificant appearance for grabbing the audiance.
