Appointment: NA speaker, minister issued notices

Petitioner submitted that they had ordered the transfer of Commissioner Nadeem Akhtar on political basis

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued notices to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Labour Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar on a petition challenging the appointment of Commissioner Workmen’s Compensation for being politically motivated. Petitioner Muhammad Idrees submitted that the speaker and the minister had ordered the transfer of Commissioner Nadeem Akhtar on political basis. His counsel said Akhtar was acting as authority under the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, South Zone Lahore… without a notification from the labour secretary.
