Hoarding: 10,000 litres of kerosene oil seized

Nearly 10,000 litres of kerosene oil being traded illegally was seized by Multan police in a raid on Friday. Assistant Commissioner Malik Attaul Haq told a press conference that a Rs50,000 fine had been imposed people caught hoarding the oil to cause an artificial shortage.

He said the DCO had ordered a crackdown on those trading in the black market following several complaints moved by citizens. The assistant commissioner said a team had been tasked with searching shops and godowns in the city. He urged citizens to cooperate with the district government in locating those who were hoarding oil. “Creating an artificial shortage and selling goods at exorbitant prices is illegal. Action will be taken against those involved in the practice,” he said.
