Precaution: Commissioner for renovation of old buildings

LAHORE:

Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal has issued deadlines for the demolition or reconstruction of buildings reported in a derelict condition.

Speaking at a meeting, he directed the district authorities to submit progress reports in this regard every three days.

The commissioner has asked the authorities to complete demolition or reconstruction works in Nankana Sahib by May 5; in the Walled City of Lahore by May 7; and in Sheikhupura and Kasur by May 15. Sumbal has asked the Lahore Buildings district officer to identify “dangerous building” in all categories and include these in a database. The commissioner was informed that 10 buildings needed to be renovated.
