Illegal harvest: Vast tract of poppy field destroyed

The poppy flower is used in making heroin and its cultivation is illegal

QUETTA: Security forces and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) have destroyed a poppy field extended over an area of 964 acres in separate raids across the Loralai district of Balochistan in the past three weeks, the Express correspondent in the far flung Duki town reported. Frontier Corps troops and Levies, ANF and civil administration officials arrived at Killi Barna and wasted poppy grown over 145 acres. The poppy flower is used in making heroin and its cultivation is illegal.
