Crackdown: PTI creates hurdles for drug inspectors
According to Shah, once the teams raided the stores PTI MPA Javed Naseem resisted the team
PESHAWAR:
PTI workers created hurdles for drug inspectors carrying out their duties in Peshawar. Senior provincial drug inspector, Syed Wilayat Shah told The Express Tribune a raid was carried out in Namak Mandi. At least nine chemists, who were running illegal businesses and involved in smuggling medicines to Afghanistan, were arrested. “The medicines were provided by the government and were not for sale,” Shah said. “But the store owners were smuggling the drugs to Afghanistan.” According to Shah, once the teams raided the stores PTI MPA Javed Naseem resisted the team. He added 10 shops were sealed in Board Bazaar on Thursday and were subsequently reopened.
